Robbie Adair

Almost 30 years in the Industry

My journey in this industry, which began nearly three decades ago, initially started as a means to earn a paycheck and soon transformed into a genuine passion and a fulfilling career.

My humble beginnings in an entry-level role within the vinyl department laid the foundation for a remarkable journey. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working in various capacities, from installation to project and production management. These diverse experiences not only broadened my skill set but also gave me a unique perspective on graphic design. I learned that what looks great on a computer screen doesn't always translate seamlessly into fabrication.

As my career evolved, I found myself transitioning into the role of Design Manager. My prior experiences played a pivotal role in my success in this position. They equipped me with the knowledge and insights needed to bring about positive changes within our department. I implemented new processes and design structures that greatly enhanced our efficiency and consistency in producing drawings.

One of the most significant achievements during this period was our ability to increase productivity while reducing staff numbers. We managed to produce more drawings with a third fewer team members. Our streamlined system made it easier to onboard and train new designers, facilitating their transition into the team seamlessly.

I share these reflections not only to celebrate my journey but also to express my gratitude for the opportunities and support I've received throughout my career.
